Fully Refundable
When You Buy.
What you actually get, what it actually costs, and why it works this way.
The math, plainly stated
Step 1: Pay $200 via Stripe. You get instant access to book a Calendly slot.
Step 2: 30-minute telehealth evaluation. Daryl reviews your measurements, skin integrity, diagnosis, and mobility goals. Written summary within 24 hours.
Step 3: Buy a chair through wheelchair.direct → the $200 is credited in full against the chair price. Not buying? You keep the evaluation report. No refund — the eval stands on its own.
What’s included in the $200
- 30-minute 1:1 telehealth call with Daryl Bullard, Wheelchair Mobility Expert (20+ years)
- Review of body measurements, diagnosis, current setup, and mobility goals
- Skin integrity and pressure sore risk assessment
- Specific frame recommendation — make, model, configuration
- Cushion recommendation matched to your skin integrity profile
- Written summary of recommendations delivered within 24 hours
- No brand loyalty, no commissions, no upsell pressure — ever
What’s not included
- Insurance handling or reimbursement paperwork — out of scope by design
- Respiratory or non-mobility-related clinical advice
- Physical fittings — this is a telehealth evaluation
- Refund if you choose not to purchase — the evaluation is the deliverable
Why no insurance? Insurance billing adds months of delay, paperwork, and commission structures that compromise the advice. Paying out of pocket for an independent evaluation is faster and genuinely cheaper when you account for a bad chair purchase you’d have to replace.
Frequently asked questions
Why $200? Why not free? +
A free consultation means the money has to come from somewhere else — commissions, brand deals, or inflated equipment margins. The $200 is what makes the advice genuinely independent. Daryl's income from the evaluation isn't tied to which chair he recommends. It also filters for seriousness: a $0 consult fills the calendar with curiosity. A $200 consult fills it with people who've already done the math and decided it's worth their time.
What if I'm not ready to buy a chair after the call? +
You keep the evaluation report — specific frame recommendation, cushion match, configuration notes, written summary. That's a real deliverable with real value, regardless of when or whether you buy. The $200 isn't refunded if you decide not to purchase. But if you do purchase through wheelchair.direct, the credit applies in full.
How does the credit actually work? +
When you're ready to order, Daryl processes the purchase and applies the $200 credit directly — you pay the chair price minus $200. It's tracked manually per client. If you're placing an order, just mention the evaluation date and Daryl will confirm and apply the credit before processing payment.
Can my therapist or caregiver join the call? +
Yes. A PT or OT joining is actively useful — they can provide clinical context and ask technical questions Daryl is happy to answer. A caregiver is also welcome. Just mention it when booking so Daryl knows to expect more than one person.
Do you accept insurance? +
No. Insurance billing requires participation agreements with manufacturers, which creates financial incentives to recommend specific brands. Accepting insurance means Daryl can't remain fully independent. The practical upside: no prior authorizations, no denials, no waiting 4–6 weeks for approval. You book, you have your call, you get your report.
What if I already have a chair I want to replace? +
That's one of the most common scenarios. The evaluation covers exactly this — current setup review, what's working, what's not, and what would be better. You can also start with the Replace My Chair intake form, which collects your serial number and current configuration details before we talk.
How long until I have my chair after the evaluation? +
Lead times vary by manufacturer and configuration — ultralight manual chairs typically ship in 6–12 weeks from order. Some frames have shorter lead times. Daryl will give you a current estimate based on what he recommends. The evaluation doesn't add time — it shortens the total cycle by getting the configuration right the first time.
What if Daryl recommends a chair I don't want? +
That's your call. The evaluation is advice, not a prescription. Daryl will explain the reasoning behind the recommendation — if you want to go a different direction, he'll tell you the tradeoffs. You're not locked into anything. The $200 credit applies to any chair purchased through wheelchair.direct, not just the one Daryl recommends.
Is the $200 charged before or after the call? +
Before. Payment is processed at checkout via Stripe, then you receive a Calendly link to schedule your slot. Your time isn't locked in until the payment is confirmed — this is intentional so Daryl's calendar reflects actual appointments, not tentative ones.
What measurements should I have ready? +
The most useful: seat width (hip-to-hip at the widest point, seated), seat depth (back of buttocks to back of knee), lower leg length (knee crease to floor), and shoulder height. If you have your current chair's serial number and spec sheet, bring that too. Don't stress if you don't have everything — Daryl can guide you through measurements during the call if needed. Visit /measure for a pre-eval guide.
Credited in full toward any chair purchase. Cash-pay only. No insurance billing.
