Helio A7

The Helio A7 is the refined aluminum folder — its hydroformed cross brace resists twisting, so more of every push goes into moving you forward instead of flexing the frame. Seat height adjusts in quarter-inch steps, not whole-inch guesses, so the fit lands exactly where it should. Configure it below with live weight, width, and price.

Roll further on every push
The Symmetrical Hydroformed Cross Brace resists torsional flex far more than a standard folding X-brace, so more of your effort turns into forward motion instead of frame twist.
A fit measured to the quarter-inch, not the inch
Seat-to-floor height adjusts in quarter-inch increments, so you land on the exact foot-to-floor or transfer height you need instead of settling for the nearest whole-inch option.
Stiffness without the added weight
Oval tubing and oversized pivot axles add rigidity and durability the same way a heavier frame would — without the extra aluminum mass.
Room to grow, without starting over
Same folding family as the A6 with a stiffer ride; the Heavy-Duty package raises capacity to 350 lb for a 0.5 lb weight penalty.

Body-Fit Dimensions

These measurements set how the chair fits your body. Most are fixed at build time — take a minute to get them right.

Seat Width16"

The internal frame width — the single dimension that drives overall width.

How to measure / choose

Sit on a firm, flat surface and measure across the widest point of your hips or thighs. Add ½–1" of clearance. Too wide forces an inefficient, shoulder-stressing push arc; too narrow causes pressure at the outer hips. This is fixed at time of build — get it right.

Frame CapacityStandard — 265 lb

The standard frame is rated to 265 lb. The Heavy-Duty package reinforces it to a 350 lb capacity.

Seat Depth16"

How far the seat extends under your thighs.

How to measure / choose

Sit with your back against a wall and measure from the wall to the crease behind your knee, then subtract 1–2" of clearance. Too deep cuts off circulation behind the knee; too shallow tilts the pelvis forward and puts too much pressure on your sitting bones.

Front Seat-to-Floor Height16"

Front seat height — sets whether your feet rest flat with thighs parallel to the seat.

How to measure / choose

With your shoes on, measure from the floor to the back of your knee while seated, then account for cushion thickness. Too high lifts your thighs off the seat and increases pressure on your sitting bones; too low lets your feet drag. Adjustable in fine increments, so small corrections are easy to make.

Rear Seat-to-Floor Height15"

Rear seat height — combined with front height it sets the seat slope ("dump").

How to measure / choose

Usually set 1–3" lower than the front height to create rearward seat slope ("dump"), which improves pelvic stability and propulsion. Constrained by rear wheel size and axle position — if your chosen combination isn’t achievable, I’ll flag it before your chair is built.

Seat to Footrest14"

Sets which footrest hardware range fits — defaults to 2" less than your front height, editable.

How to measure / choose

Measured from the seat surface down to the footplate. As a rule of thumb this defaults to 2" less than your front seat-to-floor height, but you can change it — get up in your existing chair or a fitted one and measure directly if you have one. This measurement, together with the footrest angle you pick under Footrests & Front Frame, determines the specific hardware built for you. The 90° (most tucked) angle has a notably narrower achievable range than the swing-away angles — about 8"–14" versus 14"–20" — since the foot sits higher and more upright under the seat.
